Every year, packaging designers, manufacturers and retailers gather to celebrate one of the most prestigious events in the industry: the Luxury Packaging Awards.  

The GPA Luxury team is delighted to announce that this year, eight of our packs have been shortlisted. In addition, GPA Luxury has been nominated for Luxury Packaging Supplier of 2019.

First up is our Christmas gift from 2018, the Bee Book, which has been shortlisted in the category of Luxury Seasonal Pack. This unique, bespoke book was created to draw attention to declining bee populations around the world. It features intricate graphic elements, complex gold foiling, and gorgeous illustrations by our gifted designer Christian Zebitz. In addition, each book holds a piece of biodegradable, recycled seed paper.

But that’s not the only GPA Luxury pack in the category of Luxury Seasonal Pack. We’ve also been nominated for our Absolut bag, a premium paper container printed with a design inspired by one of seven iconic cities. These bags are held shut with a silicone tie which can be worn as a bracelet. They’re the perfect low-cost promotional item for seasonal events such as Chinese New Year.

Our pack for La Mer Crème of Mystery – which features deep blue metallic art paper and a hidden speaker – is one of seven packs shortlisted within the category of Luxury Cosmetics/Personal Pack. Another of our beauty packs under consideration for a top award is our influencer kit for Rimmel Wonder’Luxe Volume Mascara. This chic rose gold pack, which was entered in the category of Special Edition Pack (Other Goods), was modelled on the shape of the mascara tube and houses a removable mirror.

In the category of Special Edition Pack (Drinks) is our limited edition luxury box for a very special 30-year-old Royal Lochnagar whisky. This pack features a premium rigid board structure with core-dyed navy paper. Another pack vying for top spot in this category is our elegant wooden case for the limited edition Ardgowan Expedition. This exceptional Scotch contains whisky that’s been to the South Pole and back!

Our biodegradable pack for Jameson, which carries a bottle of whiskey and two tumblers, is up for a Luxury Resource Efficient Pack award. We created this pack from environmentally friendly materials – kraft paper, recycled pulp, and soy ink – and designed it for use as a carry case.

The eighth and final pack shortlisted for a Luxury Packaging Awards has been nominated in the category of Special Edition Pack – but it remains a secret for now!
