MW’s Sinatra Century pack wins big at the WorldStar Awards 2017
Earlier this year, MW Luxury Packaging crafted a carry case for Jack Daniel’s Sinatra Century, a limited edition whiskey produced in celebration of Frank Sinatra’s centenary. Now, the MW team are celebrating the release of this special pack all over again, having walked away with a WorldStar Award in the Luxury category.
The WorldStar Awards are run by the World Packaging Organisation; it's an important date marked on the calendar of every manufacturer in the packaging industry. MW's recent win places them alongside an array of prestigious competitors such as Victorinox, Siam Craft Industry and DS Smith.
The winning pack itself comprises a sturdy midnight blue wooden box, topped with a gold metallic handle. The case is fronted with a hinged door, and opens up to reveal a leather-lined interior. The whiskey (100 percent proof and drawn from only 100 barrels) is held securely in the main body of the case; opposite, two recesses in the door are fitted with an accompanying hardback book and a replica tie pin, containing a newly released recording of Sinatra performing in Las Vegas.
The overall effect is of a timeless, masculine case that harks back to the Rat Pack era; it’s the kind of pack that would look at home in the drinks cabinet – or on the mantlepiece – of any Sinatra-loving whiskey connoisseur.
MW’s WorldStar Awards win with this pack marks a fitting end to an exciting year for their team, who'll be hoping 2017 promises more of the same.
